1. Who we are
GlowBoost (“we”, “the app”) is an application focused on aesthetic analysis and style recommendations, not on facial recognition or biometric identification.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Face images
We only collect a face image when you choose to run the face scan, either by taking a photo with the camera or selecting an image from your gallery.
Processing flow:
- The photo is captured on your device.
- The app compresses the image locally to optimize size and transmission.
- The compressed image is sent to the OpenAI API to obtain an analysis.
- The app receives the API response and displays the information and recommendations to you.
We do not extract or store facial recognition templates or biometric identifiers. The purpose is aesthetic only (face shape, color harmony, general features).
2.2 Derived aesthetic data
You may receive aesthetic descriptions such as:
- Face shape type (oval, round, square, etc.).
- Suggested color palettes for makeup, clothing, or accessories.
- General style recommendations.
These derived data points do not identify any specific person and are used to personalize your experience within GlowBoost.
2.3 Technical information
We may collect standard technical information, such as:
- Device model and operating system version.
- Language setting, time zone, and approximate country.
- Error and performance logs.
This is used to improve stability, performance, and user experience.
3. Purposes of processing
We use your information for the following purposes:
- To provide aesthetic analysis and personalized recommendations inside the app.
- To display face scan results and related content.
- To improve the functioning, design, and user experience of the app.
- To protect the security of the app and prevent abuse or misuse.
We do not use your photos or derived data for personalized advertising, cross-app tracking, or selling your data.
4. Legal basis
Depending on your jurisdiction, we rely mainly on:
- Consent: when you agree to the face scan and grant camera/photo permissions.
- Legitimate interest: to provide and improve the core functionality of the app.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by disabling camera/gallery access or uninstalling the app.
5. Data sharing with third parties
We do not sell your information or share it with third parties for commercial purposes. We only share data where it is strictly necessary to operate the Service:
- OpenAI (API): we send the compressed image and/or visual information snippets so that the AI model can generate an aesthetic analysis. The response is used to show results inside the app.
According to OpenAI’s public information on API data usage:
“Data submitted through the API is not used to train models. API data is retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and then deleted.” — OpenAI API Data Usage Policy.
OpenAI also explicitly prohibits using its services for facial recognition or identification of individuals, and GlowBoost complies with that limitation.
6. Data retention
We strive to keep data only as long as strictly necessary:
- Images on the device: may be stored temporarily for analysis and are deleted afterwards, unless you explicitly choose to save them (for example, in a history or in your gallery).
- Data sent to OpenAI: according to their policies, it is stored for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and then deleted.
- Derived aesthetic data: may be stored while you use the app to show recommendations; you may request deletion if we implement user profiles.
7. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:
- Data minimization: we only send what is necessary for analysis.
- Using providers that declare strong security practices.
No system is completely invulnerable, but we work to reduce the risk of unauthorized access, accidental disclosure, or data loss.
10. International transfers
Some service providers (like OpenAI) may process data in other countries. We take reasonable steps to ensure that these transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical, or product changes. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date and may show a notice in the app.
